Test Flight 

I produced&#38;nbsp;Test Flight, the first issue of content for M&#38;amp;A Radio. This included writing an open call for submissions, revewing and curating all submissions, creating ten written and recorded audio pieces for the show, and writing the landing page description for the web player. Takappe Washut, or the Black Walnut Tree, is a native tree endemic to Southern California. Not only is it a keystone species in many ecosystems across Los Angeles, it is also an important cultural resource for the Tongva and Gabriellino people.&#38;nbsp;
Coyotl + Macuhuelli is an environmental nonprofit comprised of neighbors from NELA who care to protect the Black Walnut Tree while silmultaneously preventing luxury development, increasing affordable housing, and maintaining the open spaces of NELA. C+M collaborates with many other organizations to do this work, including the El Sereno Community Land Trust, the Annuhelic Indigenous School of NELA, and neighborhood councils.&#38;nbsp;
I helped C+M prepare for their first annual Black Walnut Day, a large public event involving 12 organizations that aimed to eduacate the public about native species and the fight to keep the open spaces in NELA.&#38;nbsp;
My work with them spanned across brochures, press releases, and emails. I mostly edited copy that was sent to me and on occasion drafted copy for meeting talking points and email communications. I am currently continuing this work for BWD 2023, with the aim of creating a more cohesive organization voice across all media.&#38;nbsp;Pictured are examples of copy I compiled and edited for BWD ‘22.&#38;nbsp;

	My UX projects range from website and app updates to instructional performance art pieces. When it comes to setting users or participants on a journey, I aim to create language that guides and instructs, countering possibilites of interpretation through multi-path systems.&#38;nbsp;

Before and After:Updating Webpages with UX in Mind
Fall of 2022 I earned a certificate in User Experience writing at the University of Washington. In the course I learned key techniques for researching heuristics and adapting copy to be more user friendly.&#38;nbsp;Project 1: The Museum of Jurassic Technology

For my first class project, I updated the website copy for the Museum of Jurassic Technology to unify their brand voice and improve the user journey for purchasing tickets.

My UX performance art piece, Slow Dance x Schindler House at the MAK Center for Art &#38;amp; Architexture’s Centennial Celebration. UX writing creates accessability; my two-channel, two-person, audio tour of the Schindler House is designed to help visitors create a more personal and physical connection to the house, and their ‘dancing’ partner.&#38;nbsp;To see my project for the Mak Center, head&#38;nbsp;here.

	On the landing page, I only simplified slightly. The feel and brand voice for the MoJT is elaborate, ancient, and stately; the landing page is the place to establish that.

	Though the copy was working functionally here, I changed the tone to better fit MoJT’s brand voice.&#38;nbsp;

I wrote copy for a client marketing their camper van rental service.
I worked with them to find a brand voice that was casual yet professional-- easy going yet thorough. A brand voice that reflected the ideal van camping experience: easy, but still camping.&#38;nbsp;
Not too fancy, but nice, and just the right price for what is being offered.&#38;nbsp;
